Sam and Lauren have been
through
Basic Manners and Obedience II
with Rufus and this is one of their stories!
This weekend we took Rufus to a pig pickin' held by
one of our bosses. We arrived and many people were already enjoying
food and conversation. Rufus approached the party with perfect loose
leash manners as we started to mingle.
We were meeting the hostess of the event when she
dropped her entire plate of hot, delicious, mouth-watering food.
Of course, like any dog, Rufus was very interested in this eye level
delicacy and quickly nibbled up the closest pasta noodle. Just as
the noodle went into his mouth, I said, "Rufus, Leave It!"
And he spit it back out on the grass!
After we told the hostess Rufus was not allowed to
eat a lot of people food (his belly would be rumbling all night!)
the food was cleaned up. Rufus watched while perfectly cooked pig
was being removed from the grassy plate before him.
Everyone was so impressed with how well behaved he
was. Thank you for helping us enjoy our dog and thank you for all
of your wonderful work!
